GFI FaxMaker supports several alternate communications platforms where phone lines, modems and fax boards are not an option for you. This is especially useful when you wish to install GFI FaxMaker in a virtual environment.
Note: The below options can be tried separately or together
GFI FaxMaker supports a wide range of Analog and digital faxing devices and boards.
Note: The use of physical devices and boards in virtual environments (HyperV/VMWare) is not supported due to several virtualization complexities and limitations. For virtualization of GFI FaxMaker we recommend to utilize GFI FaxMaker Online Hybrid , XCAPI, SR140 or Etherfax.
For analog technology, either an analog modem or an analog fax board can be used.
Please note that GFI Software recommended the use of supported devices for best results and support accessibility.

For digital telephony, be it BRI, PRI (E1/T1), a digital fax board can be used.
Please note that GFI Software only supports professional digital/ISDN fax boards. ISDN modems are not supported.

XCAPI is a software-only Fax over IP (FoIP) solution from TE-Systems. The evaluation of XCAPI allows you to test GFI FaxMaker’s Fax over IP capability with you existing SIP provider, babyTEL below, or with your T.38 capable IP PBX or Media Gateway.
Install XCAPI during the GFI FaxMaker Configuration Wizard, either after installation, or by launching it manually from Start > GFI FaxMaker > FaxMaker Configuration Wizard.
The Brooktrout SR140 is a software-only Fax over IP (FoIP) solution from Dialogic. The Brooktrout SR140 Evaluation license keys allow you to test GFI FaxMaker’s Fax over IP capability with you existing SIP provider, or with you T.38 capable IP PBX
Install SR140 during the GFI FaxMaker Configuration Wizard, either after installation, or by launching it manually from Start > GFI FaxMaker > FaxMaker Configuration Wizard.
