GFI EndPointSecurity wins public vote to be crowned best DLP product at Computing Security’s industry awards ceremony
GFI Software, a leading IT solutions provider for small and medium-sized enterprises, today announced its GFI EndPointSecurity™ solution won Best Data Leakage Protection Solution at the inaugural Computing Security Awards.
“More than 5,000 security professionals cast votes, making this one of the biggest surveys relating to security solutions ever carried out in the UK. As organisers, we were delighted with the level of participation from readers and we congratulate GFI Software on winning the Best Data Leakage Protection Solution category,” said David Bonner, event manager at Computing Security's publisher BTC.
The Computing Security Awards were launched this year to highlight the products and services that have made a positive contribution to improving IT security in public and private sector organisations. They are the only IT security awards where the winners are determined entirely by online nomination and voting, making them a litmus test of end-user perceptions of what the best security products are in the market.
Many organisations are unaware of, or unable to tackle, the threat presented by removable devices in their network environment. In the current climate, cybercrime and data leakage are on the rise, with endpoints at particular risk. The key to managing portable devices in your business environment is to give your administrators direct control over what devices are in use on your network. With GFI EndPointSecurity, organisations regain control over what is in use but also know what has been used and by who, and most importantly organisations gain in-depth knowledge of what data has been copied.
“Data leakage is a growing concern for organisations worldwide. The spate of incidents over the past year shows just how important it is for businesses to control and manage what devices are being connected to their networks and what data is being copied to and from the network. This award from Computing Security recognises our efforts to provide small and medium enterprises with the tools they need to prevent data loss and I would like to thank all those who, through their vote, acknowledged the strength of this product. I would also like to thank our engineering teams, who have been working on our next version which will be re-named GFI DeviceWarden, as this award is down to their hard work,” said Walter Scott, CEO of GFI Software.
